Phoenix Art Workshop is once again proud to announce our sponsorship of
Steveston's 2nd Annual Grand Prix of Art. Artists from around the province are
invited to participate in a day of Plein Air painting in this very unique art race.The
Gulf of Georgia's 10 o'clock whistle marks the start of all the excitement. Allocated
a location in and around historic Steveston village, artists have just 3 hours to
complete a painting before retuning them to Britannia Shipyards for display and
adjudication. The Richmond News will publish all the winners including a dedicated
award for youth, as well publish the "Peoples Choice" ballots for readers
to vote for their favourite painting. Art lovers are welcome to watch these "Iron
Artists" in action on Saturday, September 17th in various locations throughout
the village, and to see the results of all this creative energy on display Saturday
and Sunday in the Chinese Bunk house at Britannia Heritage Shipyards. Look
